We all know the stats: Only one-third of U.S. students can read proficiently, and nearly 70% of fourth graders do not read at grade level. Yet we also know that students who reach grade-level proficiency in reading by third grade are four times more likely to graduate and succeed in their careers. Every Child. Everywhere. Deserves to Read.

As the leader in literacy training, IMSE is dedicated to fighting the literacy crisis every day. To increase ‌our impact, we are launching the IMSE Foundation to offer scholarships for evidence-based training designed to help educators teach reading to more students.

Educators awarded with a scholarship will get to choose between two of IMSE’s most popular literacy trainings. The first course to choose from is the IMSE Impact Comprehensive Orton-Gillingham Plus Training, which provides a complete understanding of IMSE’s enhanced Orton-Gillingham method and the essential five components to literacy. The other course option is the IMSE Impact Morphology Plus Training, which offers a complete understanding of morphology, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension and how to apply it in the classroom.

The IMSE Foundation scholarship is 100% donor-funded and aims to provide teachers with training proven to help students overcome reading gaps and reach grade level.

“Our team is committed to doing everything we can to help educators access best-in-class teaching methods proven to work in the classroom,” said Jeanne Jeup, Co-Founder of IMSE. “This training is crucial to fighting the literacy crisis. Every child deserves to read— we must act now and elevate educators with knowledge.”

The IMSE Foundation’s scholarship offers a unique opportunity for educators to join more than 300,000 others who have completed IMSE trainings. Since April 2020 alone, over 60,000 educators have completed IMSE Live Virtual Training.
