Educators learn how to identify struggling learners through assessment and progress monitoring and tailor instruction to meet their unique needs, helping them bridge the gap and catch up with their peers.

Tier 2 instruction should include a minimum of 10-18 weeks of 30-minute per day instruction 3x/week in addition to 90 minutes of core instruction with progress monitoring monthly or bimonthly.

Tier 3: Intensive Support

IMSE goes beyond traditional approaches by providing educators with tools to deliver intensive, individualized instruction. This tier ensures that even students facing significant challenges receive the personalized attention they need to overcome obstacles and thrive.

Tier 3 instruction should include a minimum of 20 weeks of 45-120 minutes of intensive instruction delivered by a special education teacher or interventionist 5 times per week with progress monitoring weekly or biweekly.
