The Institute for Muli-Sensory Education (IMSE) has been accredited by the International Dyslexia Association (IDA) for its IMSE Impact Comprehensive Orton-Gillingham+ and Morphology+ programs. The IDA’s accreditation program rigorously reviews educator preparation programs based on an accreditation model uniquely aligned with the IDA’s Knowledge and Practice Standards for Teachers of Reading (KPS). Alignment with the KPS provides programs with a comprehensive standards-based reading preparation framework to guide their curriculum development. Programs that meet these standards are awarded IDA Accreditation.

IMSE’s Orton-Gillingham Certification has also achieved Accreditation Plus status from the IDA as a program that produces educators who have engaged in intensive supervised practicum experiences. These experiences must be sufficiently designed and staffed to promote applied mastery of the principles and practices of structured literacy in the service of preventing reading failure and remediating off-track readers with profiles characteristic of dyslexia.

This accreditation decision represents the highest level of accreditation that can be given to an organization and shows the organization’s substantial conformance to the IDA’s standards. An organization receiving this accreditation has put itself through a rigorous vetting process. The process is designed to ensure that program graduates have mastered core KPS.

The Center for Effective Reading Instruction (CERI) recognizes IMSE as an approved pathway toward the Structured Literacy Dyslexia Interventionist Certifications or CERI Structured Literacy Dyslexia Specialist

Participants who participate in either the Comprehensive or Intermediate IMSE OG Practicum are eligible to pursue their CERI Structured Literacy Dyslexia Interventionist Certification. Likewise, those participating in both IMSE Practicums are eligible to pursue their CERI Structured Literacy Dyslexia Specialist Certification.

Through this process, IMSE has demonstrated to a team of surveyors its commitment to offering Structured Literacy professional development programs and services that are measurable, accountable, and of the highest quality.
